Here at La Trobe, we are one of the most sustainable and inclusive universities– and here’s another reason why!
As part of La Trobe’s sustainability program, we are encouraging the use of environmentally friendly transportation. As a major practise of La Trobe, building a Future Ready Strategy is critical in supporting one of the biggest global issues of today.
Our free Bike Share Program is available at La Trobe’s Bundoora campus and is the perfect way to utilise your time between classes in a healthy, environmentally friendly way. This is a great opportunity to contribute to a more sustainable and brighter future of our planet, and what better way to contribute than to round up your friends for some fun and fitness.
The program is in collaboration with Lifeskills and is available for both staff and students to enjoy around the campus. It is easy to use and is a great way to make small trips around campus or if you need to go to the shops at nearby Polaris. There are 9 bike share stations spread across the Bundoora campus where you can leave, lock and secure your bike.
All you need to do is register online to make an appointment and collect your lock key and helmet, then you’re all set to go!
On top of this, La Trobe hosts a Biker’s Brekkie once a month, providing bikers with a FREE breakfast! We invite anyone with a bike to come down and enjoy this great opportunity. It is a great way to get out, meet new people and save the environment.
You can get involved by attending one of the Biker’s Brekkies in semester 2 from 8am-10am on these following dates:
- 2nd July
- 6th August
- 3rd September
- 1st October
- 16th October (Ride 2 University Day)
